Predictions: Fast Lane (22.2.2016)

fast lane

‘Fast Lane’ zooms into the WWE Network tonight. With a decimated roster due to injuries, the WWE are struggling to put together matches for ‘WrestleMania 31’ (and everything else!). However, after ‘Fast Lane,’ we will hopefully see a clearer picture of the card for WrestleMania. As for ‘Fast Lane’ itself? Apart from the main event, is there anything worth watching? Maybe Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler, but we’ve already seen that match plenty of times in the last month or so! But I’m still here to give my predictions!

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks vs Naomi and Tamina

WWE must be desperate: two women’s matches on one PPV? There’s no way Naomi and Tamina are going over here. Sasha Banks needs to look strong for her match against Charlotte at ‘WrestleMania 31.’ I presume that’s what we’ll see at ‘Mania, anyway. I could see Banks turning on Lynch and costing her the match, thus setting in motion a possible Triple Threat match at ‘Mania, but it’s a distant possibility. For now, I’m betting on Lynch and Banks for the victory.

PREDICTED WINNER: Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks

Big Show, Kane and Ryback vs The Wyatt Family

Why isn’t this on the pre-show, instead of the US Championship match? I know which one I’d rather see. Big Show and Kane contribute nothing to the product. They are only on the card to give The Wyatt Family someone to fight against. It’s that time of year again that WWE suddenly remember to push The Wyatt Family (or more specifically, Bray Wyatt) in order to give them a spot at WrestleMania. In a perfect world, they would be given better opponents, but there’s barely anyone left to fight in WWE! The Wyatt Family will win this, unless Brock Lesnar takes them all out in revenge for the Royal Rumble…but that’s unlikely.

PREDICTED WINNER: The Wyatt Family

Kevin Owens (c) vs Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship Match)

How many times have we seen this match in the past month or so? There’s no doubt that Owens and Ziggler can put on a great match, but there’s only so much they can create in a short space of time. Since Owens only won the IC Title last Monday, I can’t see him losing it to Ziggler less than a week later. Of course, Owens only won the title from Dean Ambrose to create curiosity for the main event of ‘Fast Lane,’ but that’s no reason for him to lose it so quickly. At least Ziggler has a match at a PPV!!!

PREDICTED WINNER: Kevin Owens

AJ Styles vs Chris Jericho

See above: how many times do we have to see this match? And will Styles fight anyone else apart from Chris Jericho and The Miz? Why not give AJ Styles a new opponent? Regardless, AJ Styles will win this match. He needs to look strong going into WrestleMania. Jericho’s only come back for the ‘Mania paycheck, so he doesn’t care whether he wins or loses. Styles will beat Jericho and move on to (hopefully) bigger and better things!

PREDICTED WINNER: AJ Styles

Charlotte (c) vs Brie Bella (Diva’s Championship Match)

Another predictable match? You betcha! There’s no way that Brie Bella is winning the Diva’s title, even whilst riding the wave of Daniel Bryan’s retirement. Charlotte is going to defend her title against Sasha Banks at ‘Mania. What other women’s match is worthy of the big event? The audience want to see Charlotte vs Banks, to relive their feud in NXT. Brie Bella will probably disappear for a couple of months (or more) after losing this match, to spend time with her retired husband. Charlotte will prepare for ‘Mania…

PREDICTED WINNER: Charlotte

Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar (Number 1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Championship)

Will WWE surprise us by having either Lesnar or Ambrose win this match? Is Reigns winning too predictable? But when something’s too predictable, it means that the WWE will be predictable! They are either too lazy or too afraid to surprise us in any meaningful way. Ambrose lost the IC Title to create doubt for this match, but the chance of him winning is negligible. As for Lesnar? Lesnar vs HHH has been done at ‘Mania before. I assume that The Wyatt Family will take him out of the match. The only viable winner is Reigns. His feud with HHH has been going for a while now. It was obvious the feud would culminate at ‘Mania. Reigns will face HHH for the WWE Championship at ‘Mania. End of story!

PREDICTED WINNER: Roman Reigns

Hammy don’t you think it’s weird they’re putting a title match on the preshow? Nothing against Sasha and Becky but that match is probably the least cared about match on the card.

Not anymore I guess. It’s almost like they’re purposely down playing the U.S title until Cena gets back. The thing is will the damage already be done by that point?

I think the damage was done with the 3 rapid title changes in two weeks before and during the Rumble.

I think we had exact predictions except main event. That’s not a good sign.

They did a good job in Rumble, but HHH finish you could see from miles away.

I think you forgpt the result of the U.S. Title. I know it’s pre-show, but shouldn’t.
