So, let’s get to answering Jess’ questions!

1. Marvel or DCU?

This is too easy! Marvel, by a massive stretch. Hated ‘Man Of Steel’ and ‘Suicide Squad,’ didn’t think ‘BvS’ was as bad as everyone made out. However, in terms of consistent quality, Marvel has the edge. Maybe that will change over the coming years…

2. Do you have a favourite director?

Hmmm…if I did, it would be a choice between Steven Spielberg and James Cameron. They created some of my most treasured childhood memories! However, in the modern sense, Nicolas Winding Refn is the cream of the crop.

3. Did you have a favourite song in 2016?

Yes. Yes I did. It’s from the film ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.’ It’s called ‘Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song). Here it is, in all its glory:

4. Got a favourite superhero?

Spider-Man! I first got into comics thanks to the Spider-Man cartoon of the 90s. I never looked back…but always go back to the superhero that started my fascination with comic books!

5. What’s your favourite season of the year? 

That’s a tough one! Hate defrosting my car during early frozen morning, so that’s winter out of the equation. Summer? Although I get irritable in great heat. Spring? Yeah, let’s go for Spring.

6. Do you have any siblings?

A younger brother!

7. Have you fallen asleep during any film at the cinema?

I used to do it quite regularly during the time of my old job. Used to do 12 hour days five days a week, so when the cinema came I’d be conked out halfway through! Notable films I’ve slept through: ‘Skyfall’, ‘Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy’, ‘Avatar’…

8. Do you like going to live music gigs!

Yes I do, but don’t often get the chance! Saw a great little band in Buxton a few weekends ago called ‘Fuzzy Felt World.’ Last proper gig I went to was last year, when I saw Machine Head. And it rocked!

9. Do you prefer comics or film adaptations!

I prefer film adaptations nowadays! Still read the odd graphic novel now and again, but don’t have time to read comics!

10. Would you prefer to read the book before the film adaptations?

More often than not, yes. I always like to compare and contrast!

11. Do you prefer watching or reading film reviews?

Reading film reviews, definitely.
