HAMMY’S TOP 10…FILMS OF 2008

Guess what? 2008 was ten years ago? Just think, we were still in the clutches of the credit crunch, alot of people were being made unemployed/losing their house, and Gordon Brown was attempting to run Britain. But on the bright side, George Bush couldn’t be in the White House ever again! Most importantly, 2008 was a pretty good year for films! We needed the distraction of the cinema a lot back then! To be fair, we need any distraction we can get nowadays…But on a serious note, 2008 was packed full of great films. And here are my Top 10 Films of 2008… Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…FILMS OVER THREE HOURS

Last week, I posted a list of my Top 10 Films Under 90 Minutes (click here to view the list!). It got me to thinking…in the interest of fairness (and I’m all about fairness and justice), what about the other end of the spectrum? What about those bum-numbing films? Those films over three hours? I think any film over two hours is pushing its luck, but over three hours? It has to be a pretty special film to be over three hours AND keep you entertained. After some hardcore thinking, I came up with a list of Top 10 Films Over Three Hours! Here it is… Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…FILMS UNDER 90 MINUTES

I recently read that the Doomsday Clock is at 2 minutes to midnight. We are that much closer to destruction, thanks to Trump! Isn’t it hard to find time without being pressured by knowing that the world could end at any second? I have so many films to watch! It’s not just about finding time; it’s about finding the right amount of time. Say I want to watch Gone With The Wind (on the to-watch list!). I’d have to put a sixth of a day’s worth of time aside to watch it! There’s only two minutes to midnight, for goodness sake! I can’t be watching Gone With The Wind! The lack of time makes deciding which film to watch very difficult. So it got me to thinking…what about those films that clock in under an hour and a half? After some serious thought, I decided upon ten films to watch if you’re struggling to decide on a film but have less than an hour and a half to spare (and are also concerned about the Doomsday Clock). HAMMY’S TOP 10…NON-RUMBLE ROYAL RUMBLE MATCHES!

It’s the Royal Rumble tomorrow! Yes, not only are thirty sweaty men going to battle for the right to main event WrestleMania, but thirty sweaty women are also going to battle for the right to face the Women’s Champion at WrestleMania (but their chance of main eventing WrestleMania is a 3,750 to 1). But I’m not here to talk about the Rumble match itself. I’m here to talk about the non-Rumble Royal Rumble matches. More specifically, my Top 10 non-Rumble Royal Rumble matches! Sometimes, an undercard match overshadows the Rumble match itself. Here are ten instances where that is most definitely the case! Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…UNDERRATED FILMS

Last week, I posted my list of Top 10 Overrated Films. In the interests of fairness, I’ve been thinking about underrated films. You know, those ones that pass under the radar, aren’t seen at the cinemas/have a limited release, and are quietly forgotten about…but are in fact awesome! Or those that were released to middling/negative reviews but I actually enjoyed. I had an absolutely massive list of underrated films, but it’s difficult to decide what’s underrated, isn’t it? But it was rather difficult to narrow them down to just ten. But here it is…my Top 10 Underrated Films! Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…GREATEST WWE RAW MOMENTS (FOR WWE RAW 25)

Tomorrow night, WWE Raw celebrates twenty five years of being on the air! In celebration, I’d thought I’d do a Top 10 List of Greatest WWE Raw Moments! I didn’t really start watching Raw until 1999, but I’ve perused the WWE Network for what are generally considered major moments in Raw history. However, most of the following list will be compiled of moments I saw live. You can watch a moment out of context, but it doesn’t mean much. Watching Raw on a weekly basis (which I pretty much did from 1999 until a few years ago) means that I have some great memories! So here’s my Top 10 List! Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…OVERRATED FILMS

It’s been a while…but Hammy’s Top 10 Lists are back! I recently watched Brawl in Cell Block 99 and was completely bored stiff halfway into it. Things became even more boring towards the end. But all the reviews I’d read were (very) positive. So what was I missing? I always think there’s something wrong with me when I don’t enjoy something the majority enjoys (and when I enjoy something that the majority don’t enjoy). Of course, we all have our distinct likes and dislikes. But when the majority are against you…is the problem them or you? That got me to thinking…what are the big films that the majority enjoy but I don’t? What are the Top 10 Films that I think are overrated? Here they are… Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…WWE/NXT MATCHES OF 2017

Okay, it’s late…but here are my Top 10 WWE/NXT Matches of 2017! I’ve taken time to go back and rewatch those matches that have stuck in my mind…which amounted to fifteen matches! A lot to re-watch, as you can appreciate. Let’s be honest, the main event scene in both NXT and WWE hasn’t been stuffed full of fantastic matches. Bobby Roode was a great champion, but his wrestling style doesn’t immediately lend to a great match. On the main roster, Jindar Mahal stunk up the arena and Lesnar wrestled occasionally. Still, the sheer amount of quality wrestlers meant that we were never far away from a great match. And here’s my Top 10 WWE/NXT Matches of 2017! Continue reading

HAMMY’S TOP 10…FILMS OF 2017 (RELEASED IN THE UK!)

Well, it’s the end of 2017 today! I’ve seen a fair few films at the cinema this year, but not as many as I’d like. Among the ones I wish I’d seen but missed are Colossal, Valerian, Alien: Covenant (in a way…), The Big Sick, A Ghost Story, A Disaster Artist (although I haven’t yet seen The Room) and It Comes At Night. I’ve been disappointed by some of the major releases this year, such as Dunkirk, all of the MCU movies, Wonder Woman and Stephen King’s IT. However, there were just enough films that met my approval to make a Top 10 List of My Favourite Films from 2017!!! So here it is…

HAMMY’S TOP 10…WORST THREEQUELS

Last week, I wrote a list of my Top 10 Best Threequels (click here to view my list!). In the light of equality, it’s only fair to do a list of Top 10 Worst Threequels, isn’t it? The Threequel usually has a tough act to follow, and in many cases leads to disappointment. Case in point: The Dark Knight Rises. It followed The Dark Knight, one of the most critically acclaimed movies in the past ten years. How could the threequel live up to the sequel? Answer: it didn’t. It left me deflated and wondering what I’d just watched. Of course, I’d hyped myself up beyond belief for Batman vs Bane (something I didn’t do for Batman vs The Joker Part 2), therefore it was almost inevitable that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. However, several rewatches have confirmed my initial belief that The Dark Knight Rises is simply a bore. That and nine others grace my Top 10 Worst Threequels… Continue reading
