HAMMY’S TOP 10 GREATEST NXT (1.0) TAKEOVER MATCHES

Tonight is the first NXT Takeover event since the brand was overhauled to NXT 2.0. Not to be negative, but I’ve not enjoyed much of what I’ve seen of NXT 2.0. It isn’t the NXT I used to know and love…but all good things must come to an end. And even the NXT I loved struggled to keep me entertained towards the end of its days (truly, Karrion Kross was one of the worst NXT champions). However, the halcyon days of glorious NXT are over. This rebranded, Vince McMahon-influenced NXT 2.0 is now just another WWE brand. Perhaps a true developmental one, but it’ll never reach the zenith of NXT 1.0.

HAMMY’S TOP 10 GREATEST THE ROCK MATCHES

Can you believe it? Twenty five years of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. WWE and Hollywood have never been the same…and, throughout Survivor Series 2021, we were teased with an appearance from ‘The Great One.’ Vince McMahon even had a golden egg, apparently from The Rock’s new Netflix film, ‘Red Notice.’ And when would The Rock grace the WWE Universe with his presence? Towards the end of the match between Roman Reigns and Big E? Would Rocky stand toe-to-toe with his cousin, Mr Reigns, and teach him a thing or two about respect? Would we see the start of a build-up for a ‘Mania match between the two?

HAMMY’S TOP 10 GREATEST NON-TRADITIONAL SURVIVOR SERIES MATCHES

You wouldn’t think it, thanks to the piss-poor build, but tonight is the 35^th annual Survivor Series PPV. It ain’t what it used to be, that’s for sure. Who cares about “Brand Supremacy” when nothing is one the line? No titles, no stakes…nothing. Clearly the bookers don’t care about “Brand Supremacy,” because this PPV build has been the worst I’ve seen for a long, long time. I was more excited for Crown Jewel 2021 than I am for this event. However, there are a few non-traditional matches that promise to be Match of the Year contenders. Over the years, Survivor Series has produced some great bouts, both in terms of the traditional Survivor Series bouts and other, non-traditional Survivor Series bouts. I’m here to talk about the latter. More specifically, my Top 10 Non-Traditional Survivor Series Matches!
