Predictions: WWE Battleground (24.07.2016)

battleground 2016

Becky Lynch vs Natalya

Surely there can only be one winner in this match? That’s Natalya. This feud will likely dominate the women’s scene on Smackdown for a few months. It leads me to one of my many criticisms of the WWE Draft: why spilt up the women? Why not have the Women’s Division exclusive to Smackdown? Raw will have an exclusive Cruiserweight Division, so why not give Smackdown something exclusive? The Women’s roster is sparse as it is, and bringing up a few women from NXT won’t help things much. Predictions: WWE Money in the Bank 2016 (19.6.2016)

mitb 2016

Let’s face it: Money in the Bank is usually more entertaining than Summerslam! It’s given us amazing matches in the past (and not just the Money in the Bank match). However, this one looks like a card of two halves. The first half is a stack of matches that no one cares about. However, we have the tag team titles at stake in a Fatal 4-Way match, the WWE Championship on the line, the titular MITB match, and AJ Styles vs John Cena…all four have potential to be matches of the year! Predictions For WWE Payback (1/5/2016)

payback 2016Payback’s a bitch…but on paper, WWE Payback looks like a pretty good PPV! It looks a whole lot better than WrestleMania 32, that’s for sure! My predictions for ‘Mania were almost wholly wrong, so here’s hoping my crystal ball is more accurate for Payback! However, the card for Payback seems unpredictable, so many of my predictions will be no more than mere guesses! Continue reading

Predictions: WrestleMania 32 (3.4.2016)

wrestlemania 32

It’s WrestleMania 32 time! If you thought the build and the card was underwhelming for ‘Mania 31, just look at this card! The WWE has had an injury epidemic, so big players like Seth Rollins, John Cena and Randy Orton are out of the show. However, that does not excuse much of the frankly awful build for the biggest event of the year. After much speculation about who would face ‘Taker, WWE pulled a swerve and brought out Shane McMahon as his opponent. A 46 year old non-wrestler fighting ‘Taker? Okay then! That feud in particular has been riddled with inconsistencies and illogic. Roman Reigns is once again fighting for the WWE Championship, but much of the crowd still hate him. The booking has not done him any favours, either. Remember AJ Styles? He’s fighting Chris Jericho again! Instead of making the injury epidemic into a positive, the WWE has delivered a pitiful build to WrestleMania 32. Here are my predictions… Continue reading

Predictions: Fast Lane (22.2.2016)

fast lane

‘Fast Lane’ zooms into the WWE Network tonight. With a decimated roster due to injuries, the WWE are struggling to put together matches for ‘WrestleMania 31’ (and everything else!). However, after ‘Fast Lane,’ we will hopefully see a clearer picture of the card for WrestleMania. As for ‘Fast Lane’ itself? Apart from the main event, is there anything worth watching? Maybe Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler, but we’ve already seen that match plenty of times in the last month or so! But I’m still here to give my predictions! Continue reading

Predictions: Royal Rumble 2016 (24.01.16)

royal rumble 2015

Tonight, the road to WrestleMania begins with the Royal Rumble! However, due to the curse of injuries afflicting the WWE at the moment (has Dixie Carter done a deal with the Devil to make sure as many WWE superstars are injured for the biggest PPV of the year?!?!), I reckon the road won’t be paved properly until Fast Lane. That’s why the WWE Championship is on the line in the Royal Rumble: so the Number 1 Contender spot isn’t set in stone. No doubt we’ll find out the Number 1 Contender at Fast Lane! They should bring back the Elimination Chamber to decide who that will be…Anyway, here are my predictions for tonight’s event! Continue reading

Predictions: WWE Hell In A Cell (25.10.15)

hell in a cellMy main prediction for this PPV/Special is…banality!!! The build for WrestleMania was mediocre, but the build-up for Hell In A Cell has been awful, without exception. I’d blame the WWE Network partly for the poor build. Think about it: if you’re a subscriber, WWE already has your money. They don’t need to sell you the Special! However, most of the blame must be placed on the creative team. Even simple storylines seem to be muddled beyond comprehension. However, I’ll still give you my predictions for WWE’s Hell In A Cell…(and by the way, I don’t count the Pre-Show match at all. If it was important enough it would be on the Special! What a waste of Ziggler, Cesaro and Neville…) Continue reading

Predictions: WWE Money In The Bank 2015

With Elimination Chamber only a few weeks ago, there has not been sufficient time to properly buold Money In The Bank. One of the most anticipated events in the WWE’s PPV calendar does not feel as exciting as it should. Let’s hope the bi-monthly Special does not become a common feature of the WWE Network. Apart from Owens’ victory, most of Elimination Chamber felt superfluous. However, the MITB match itself, Owens/Cena II and the Ladder Match for the WWE World Heavyweight title should provide ample amounts of entertainment. So let me gaze into my crystal ball for the results of Money In The Bank…. Continue reading

Predictions: WWE Elimination Chamber (31.5.2015)

ELIMINATION-CHAMBER-2013-LOGO-wwe-33681042-446-187Tonight, exclusively on the WWE Network, the Elimination Chamber returns to our screens! The Elimination Chamber used to be a rare treat on WWE, until they gave the structure a PPV of its own. Like Hell in a Cell, seeing the structure used twice in one show every year diluted its uniqueness. The Chamber almost always produced a decent match (and often much more), so it will be a pleasure to see it return! The card, on paper, is the best of the year. Among my most anticipated matches are Kevin Owens vs John Cena and Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose. But how will the matches turn out? Let me gaze into the crystal ball…  Continue reading
