Well, the dust has settled, and Avengers: Infinity War has just crossed the $2 billion mark worldwide. So I think it’s safe to have a spoiler-filled reflection on one of the few films I’ve watched twice at the cinema in the past few years (the other one was The Greatest Showman…the second viewing was the singalong version! And I had the time of my life!). I loved Infinity War (click here to read my review!), so it’s time for me to discuss why I loved it in-depth (and also explore a few niggles with the film!). Marvel Cinematic Universe Films Ranked From Worst To Best!

Well, with Avengers: Infinity War out now, I think it’s time to rank the MCU library! Ten years ago, Iron Man kicked off the massive franchise, and since then we’ve had nineteen films! Yes, nineteen films in the most successful franchise in history (I’m basing that solely on my own thinking! Surely it must be?). They’ve ranged from fantasy, to WWII drama, to sci fi opera, to political thriller…and have ranged from great to god awful. So here’s my (definitive?) ranking of the MCU library…

Review: Avengers: Infinity War (2018) (Worth The Ten Year Build?)

I have no words. I have no words. Well, that was my initial reaction as the credits rolled up for Avengers: Infinity War. Hell, that was my initial reaction after the first ten minutes of Avengers: Infinity War. For ten years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building to this moment of cinema. For ten years, we’ve been waiting for this moment of cinema. Was it worth it? You bet your life it was worth it!

Review: Thor: The Dark World (2013) (The Worst MCU Film?)

“We are not gods. We are born. We live. We die” 

Is there any point in writing this review? We all agree that Thor: The Dark World is the worst MCU film, don’t we? Come on, it’s either that or The Incredible Hulk (or Avengers: Age of Ultron). Even the most mediocre MCU films offer some form of entertainment. The sequel to Thor fails to provide a modicum of entertainment. This, along with Terminator: Genysis, is proof that Alan Taylor should stick to TV directing (although I have a soft spot for Genisys…don’t judge me!). I adore the first Thor, and this sequel only serves to dampen my love. Along with Iron Man 2, it dampened my enthusiasm for any MCU sequels (until The Winter Soldier came along!).

Review: The Incredible Hulk (2008) (There’s Nothing Incredible About This Film!)

Ten years ago, the MCU got off to a flying start with Iron Man. However, in the same year, possibly the most forgettable MCU film was released: The Incredible Hulk. I tend to forget about it (unintentionally or not!) when coming to re-watch the MCU films. But for my re-watch leading up to Avengers: Infinity War, I decided to include it. What a mistake! The Incredible Hulk is pretty, pretty bad!
